And some updates...

Jesse and I have been pretty slammed lately. But with Jesse off school and my life starting to slow down a bit (aka crazy girlfriend gone) We're going to have more time to get some work done both on the site and with our designs. I think total right now we have close to 30 designs in production and close to 15 finalized. Were both such perfectionists, no matter how much we like a design were working on we keep going back and changing little things here and there and modifying stupid shit that no one else will probably even notice. But oh well. Every ones a little OCD aren't they?

I just wanted to bring you guys a bit of an update and let you know that we are still here and alive and well. It's been a while since you heard even the slightest peep from us. I apologize for that. But I'm going to be making it up and then some. In the next couple weeks I'll be releasing some sneak peeks of some designs I've been working on, and hopefully well make some more headway on the site. Site production has been slow but we've been more concerned with getting design work done and finalized. We promise to update you a bit more in the future and not be so ghostly.

Blog of the week: Social Networking

So I'm leaving myspace finally. After 4 years I can't do it anymore. This is coming from someone who's horribly addicted to Social Networking. Don't get me wrong, I love the place I really do, but all thats really keeping me on there is the massive friend database that Ive built up in the past couple years. Finding everyone from high school I haven't seen in years, people from college, work. It's been fun, but now its time to leave and move on. Why you ask? A couple reasons actually, one of the major driving forces behind my decision is the fact that Myspace is so cluttered, filled with spam, and wretchedly unorganized. I just can't take it anymore. I've tried to substitute it and see if I could slowly ween myself off Myspace with Facebook. But that didn't work either.

Facebook has one fatal flaw. Applications. I love Facebook, its so much better than Myspace. More organized, the tagging of photos and albums is awesome. Its very well done, but thats what it boils down to. Its basically a Social Photo sharing site. Then the applications. Oh god what a pitiful stab at making the site more customizable like Myspace, but at the same time trying to keep it organized and looking clean. That backfired. Its a mess, if I log in one more time and have 130 application requests. I'm going to lose it. Seems like I spend more time shooting down those application requests then I do actually leaving my friends wall posts or looking at pictures of the weekend. Oh and I almost forgot hot spam riddled and snaggy those applications are. 90% of them are just an attempt to get you to sign up for some spam site that will do nothing but flood your email for the next 6 months.

So here I am. Done with Myspace, and getting fed up with Facebook. And along comes an email from a close friend inviting me to trig.com . At first I was unimpressed. Didn't bother to sign up but I read some reviews on how its the Myspace killer and yadda yadda. First impression was "great here's another Friendster bomb waiting to fail horribly in an explosion of flames" But I eventually broke down and setup an account. At first I was a bit confused, not sure of the navigation and the overall design and feel of the site. But the more time I spent, the more I realized its just incredibly organized, well managed, spam free. Then it hits me, this site doesnt suck, its just really good. I went into it expecting the same level of spam and bullshit as any other popular Social Networking site. I was thoroughly impressed.

So here I am. Attempting to drag all of my friends over to trig. Trying to move this massive evolution of 4 years of a database over to this new site. And this is my next step, posting about it on here in the Blog of the week. I've already posted a couple bulletins on Myspace about moving over and some people have so thats goo. I posted a link to my trig profile on Facebook and hopefully a couple people will move over there.

I know I probably seem like an addict here, but I just really do believe that Social Networking is the way of the future. Mark my words in the next 2-5 years almost every phone is going to work with social networking sites to tie together and create something more than just a cell phone with numbers in it and rugged internet access. Some phone companies are already starting to move towards it, but they phone it self is almost completely integrated with the social networking site of choice. When you get a message or someone contacts you via the site, your phone can and will notify you.  You can tie in on your phone now, check your email, Myspace, Facebook, and damn near everything else (granted you have the right phone/service) And its amazing, its making the phone more social and resourceful than its ever been able to be before.

Maybe I am a dreamer, maybe I'm a technology addict.  Maybe I'm a social networking addict. But fuck it. I'm gonna go check my trig Inbox to see if anyone said hi to me while I was writing this weeks blurb. Then I'm going to spend the next 2 maybe 3 hours on digg. Being social over there. Thats how I spend my day at work. So eat me or hit me up at http://trig.com/seventytimes7
